Bengaluru: Asia’s largest air show just began in Bengaluru on Monday (February 10) with a bang. The inauguration of the five-day event was marked by breathtaking aerobatic stunts in the air show, diplomatic talks, business deals, and more.
The 15th edition of Aero India was inaugurated by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh at AFS Yelahanka in Bengaluru. Referring to the event as the “Kumbh of research,” he emphasized India’s expanding defence capabilities and the exhibition’s significance in fostering international partnerships through technological innovation and collaboration.
The event was attended by India’s Naval Chief Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi, and Vice Chief of Air Force Air Marshal Sujeet Pushpakar Dharkar. With 26 defence ministers and 118 CEOs, including 59 from global firms, the exhibition will act as a key platform to advance India’s self-reliance vision through high-level meetings and collaborations.
On the sidelines of Aero India 2025, Defence Minister Singh met his South Sudan counterpart, Lt Gen Chol Thon J Balok. The event is going to feature participation from over 900 exhibitors, including 150 foreign companies, and delegations from 90 countries.
The Indian Air Force’s aerobatic team, Surya Kiran, captivated the audience with a stunning performance at the event. The Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team (SKAT) dazzled spectators with synchronized formations and thrilling manoeuvres. The five-day event will feature cutting-edge aerial displays, showcasing some of the world’s most advanced fighter jets alongside India’s indigenous aircraft.
The Debut of Su-57 at Aero India
A video of the Russian Su-57 taking off from Yelahanka has gone viral. The pilot executes a vertical climb followed by a full circular loop—a maneuver where the aircraft ascends vertically, completes a full circle, and returns to level flight.
Both the Su-57 and F-35 are participating in the Daily Aerial Display across all four days. Their joint appearance at Aero Space 2025 has sparked excitement, with social media users commenting, “This can only happen in India.”
A video shared by Vayu Aerospace Review, an aerospace and defense trade magazine, captured the F-35 taking off just 10 minutes after the Su-57 (Felon).
