AC Shuttles, Red Drone Zones, Live Demo: Aero India 2025 to be Bigger and Better

With Aero India 2025 set to take off at Air Force Station Yelahanka, Bengaluru, preparations are in full swing to ensure that this edition of the biennial air show is bigger, more organised, and more accessible than ever before. The Ministry of Defence (MoD) has introduced a host of upgrades aimed at improving infrastructure, security, traffic flow, and visitor experience, making it a truly world-class event.

Scheduled to run from February 10 to 14, the five-day exhibition will bring together leading aerospace companies, defence manufacturers, policymakers, and military officials from across the globe. To ensure a seamless experience for attendees, the organisers have focused on improving key areas, from transport and security to venue facilities and digital accessibility.

Enhanced Traffic and Transport Arrangements

One of the biggest challenges at past editions of Aero India has been traffic congestion around the venue. This year, several proactive measures have been taken to streamline traffic flow and improve connectivity for both visitors and exhibitors.

Widening of Approach Roads
Recognising the heavy vehicular movement expected during the event, approach roads around Air Force Station Yelahanka have been widened. This will allow for better traffic movement, reducing bottlenecks and ensuring smoother entry and exit for visitors.

Real-Time Traffic Monitoring
In collaboration with the Bengaluru traffic police and civic agencies, real-time traffic monitoring will be in place to enable dynamic route adjustments. This will help ease congestion by diverting vehicles when necessary and ensuring that alternative routes remain open for attendees.

Free Shuttle Services
To reduce the number of private vehicles heading to the venue, AC Volvo shuttle buses will operate free of charge from multiple locations across Bengaluru. This initiative aims to encourage visitors to use public transport, minimising congestion and reducing waiting times at entry points.

Security and Safety Measures

Ensuring the safety of attendees, exhibitors, and military delegations remains a top priority. A multi-layered security system has been put in place to manage potential risks, with a focus on drone security, emergency response, and medical support.

Designated Red Drone Zones
With the increasing use of drones in civilian and military applications, security concerns regarding unauthorised drone activity have grown. Red drone zones have been designated and strict countermeasures have been put in place to prevent unauthorised drones from entering restricted areas. Any drone activity outside designated zones will be swiftly neutralised by the security team.

Mobile Emergency Response Units
Rapid-response teams equipped with emergency support systems will be strategically deployed across the venue to handle medical emergencies, security threats, or any disruptions. These teams will be on standby throughout the event to provide immediate assistance when required.

Upgraded Medical Facilities
Aero India 2025 will feature multiple medical aid posts spread across the exhibition venue. These will include first aid stations, paramedics on standby, and a dedicated cardiac emergency post with medical evacuation capabilities. Visitors requiring immediate medical attention will have access to ambulances and emergency evacuation facilities within the venue.

Improved Venue Facilities for Visitors and Exhibitors

Revamped Exhibition Area
Exhibitors and business delegates will benefit from an upgraded exhibition space, designed to accommodate more companies, better visitor flow, and enhanced networking opportunities. Improved infrastructure will support live demonstrations, product showcases, and interactive sessions without congestion or logistical bottlenecks.

More Seating and Rest Zones
With thousands of visitors expected daily, additional seating areas and shaded rest zones have been introduced to provide comfort between sessions and demonstrations. These zones will allow attendees to relax and recharge before exploring the next segment of the exhibition.

Expanded Food Courts and Refreshment Kiosks
This year’s edition will include additional food courts and kiosks, offering a wide range of dining options. In a move to make food accessible to all, Indira Canteens have been set up in parking areas, providing affordable meal options for attendees. The aim is to reduce food accessibility issues and ensure that exhibitors, visitors, and event staff have sufficient dining options.

Addressing Connectivity Challenges

One of the most significant concerns at past editions of Aero India has been network connectivity, particularly given the high volume of attendees relying on mobile communication. This year, steps have been taken to strengthen mobile coverage and provide digital support for visitors.

Deployment of Temporary Mobile Towers
All major telecom service providers are deploying temporary mobile towers and network boosters across the venue. This will ensure stronger signal reception, uninterrupted connectivity, and better data speeds for exhibitors, media personnel, and business delegates.

Launch of Aero India 2025 Mobile App
For the first time, a dedicated mobile app has been introduced for Aero India. The app will provide:

  • Live event updates and announcements
  • Interactive venue maps and navigation assistance
  • Schedules for key sessions and demonstrations
  • Exhibitor and speaker details

This digital tool is expected to enhance engagement and accessibility, making it easier for attendees to navigate the event and stay informed in real-time.

On-Site Mobility Solutions

To assist visitors in moving around the large exhibition space, over 100 e-karts will be deployed. These vehicles will make it easier for attendees to access different sections of the venue without long walking distances.

Multi-Agency Collaboration for Smooth Execution

The Ministry of Defence has worked closely with multiple government agencies, including the Indian Air Force, Bengaluru traffic police, and civic bodies, to ensure that Aero India 2025 is well-coordinated and efficiently managed. The collaboration between central and state authorities has been crucial in making improvements across various aspects of the event, ensuring it runs smoothly and securely.

With these extensive upgrades, Aero India 2025 is set to be one of the most well-organised and visitor-friendly editions of the air show. From better traffic management and security to upgraded venue facilities and seamless digital connectivity, the event is focused on providing a world-class experience for aerospace professionals and enthusiasts alike.

By incorporating advanced infrastructure, innovative technology, and multi-agency coordination, this edition of Aero India aims to set a new benchmark for future aerospace exhibitions in India and beyond.
